Traditional Wedding Photography as the word suggests and what comes to mind for most people is: What was done in the past. The way its been for many years. For many people they imagine their parents, or grandparents wedding photographs and albums, they imagine statically posed images and fake expressions, with perfect background and lighting. Who cares about the background and lighting if the expressions are so fake, right? So for numerous couples traditional style photography is immediately disregarded.
New generations want new and more modern styles and a look all their own. Numerous articles, websites and wedding professionals insist so highly on photojournalistic photography that traditional photography in some cases isn't remotely considered.
We say: WRONG, WAIT, HOLD IT!
While it is true, traditional photography is posed images with sometimes artificial lighting, it is an important aspect of your wedding day. Imagine after viewing all your images there is no photo of you with your grandmother, or memorable generation photos, or immediate / extended family photo. The Bride and Groom with all the flower girls and ring bearers. (sometimes a challenge to achieve even for the best traditional photographers) could never be captured photojournalistic without some kind of pre-planning or directing. These are all traditional photographs where your photographer will need to organize direct and involve themselves with your family and friends.
We highly recommend and encourage 20 minutes for these type of photographs. Normally taken during the cocktail period when most of the guests are preoccupied. All of these photographs are pre-planned prior to the wedding day and are accomplished through what we call our flow posing method quickly and efficiently. This keeps people happy and the expressions real. We blend in a variety of photojournalistic/traditional mix to lighten the atmosphere.
We are more than happy to spend an hour or more if so required to organize and capture all the various combination family, group, and wedding party photos requested in the various locations you may want to travel to.
All our photographers are trained in the fields of both photojournalistic and traditional style photography. A majority of our clients hire us because of our ability to capture such a beautiful variety having only one photographer at their event. We receive numerous compliments from brides that mention their guests did not realize a photographer was at their wedding.
